Gopak Limited is committed to the continual prevention of environmental pollution and improvement in environmental management and performance. We manage our activities in a manner that protects the environment, the safety of our staff and public health.  We are also committed to maintaining acceptable operations and activities by our trading partners, employees and local community. To achieve this, we undertake to do the following:

• Assess the environmental sensitivity of processes and the impact of operations on the local, regional and global environments and seek to reduce them.
• Employ the best available techniques for the control of emissions and wastes and for the optimal use of resources.
• Comply with all laws and applicable environmental legislation and consents.
• Train employees to ensure that they are fully competent to control the activities for which they are responsible.
• Work with third parties and stakeholders to promote awareness of the importance of environmental issues and the need to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Purchase goods and raw material to minimise adverse environmental effects by considering sustainable procurement.
• Make information on our environmental performance publicly available, anticipating and responding to concerns regarding our activities, and encouraging dialogue with interested parties and reviewing environmental objectives and targets.
• Operate in a planned and responsible manner, aiming to prevent pollution through spills and accidental discharges of hazardous material.
• Continually improve our environmental performance and reduce waste through promoting re-use and recycling, the elimination of single use products and by using refurbished and recycled products and materials wherever practicable
• Review our environmental performance and objectives annually.

Our environmental policy is managed through the application of our Environmental Management System which meets the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and is verified by an independent third-party certification body.
