Stacey Peters

Stacey Peters

It is with great sadness that we share the heart breaking news that our dear colleague and friend, Stacey Peters, has lost her battle with cancer.

Stacey joined Gopak in 2008 to bolster the admin team, bringing with her great skill, wit and enthusiasm. She very quickly integrated into the team and became a key member of staff, handling after-sales customer service with diligence and empathy.

Stacey formed many strong friendships through her work at Gopak, be they colleagues, customers or suppliers and as a keen gym goer, would regale amusing tales of her combat and balance classes, impress us with her dedication to fitness and well being, but would also often spoil us all with “Mother’s treats”. On some days, out of the blue, tins would appear filled to the brim with the most delicious sausage rolls and the springiest and mouth watering sponge cakes. Her love of her cats was also legendary with daily updates on what “Prince Peters” aka Diesel, her beautiful and much adored Oriental cat had been up to the night before. He definitely had Stace wrapped around his little “paw”.

It was last September that our world was rocked with the news that Stacey had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout her months of treatment she never once complained and refused to let any of this change her wonderful positive outlook. The strength and courage that she found to face this battle left us all speechless. She would come into work whenever she was able and we were all pleased to be able to offer support and solace and to be a constant in her changing world.

Even in the last few days and weeks, her focus continued to be concern over the welfare of her friends and colleagues, offering up apologies that she was not able to get in to the office to assist with the work load.

Life has been extremely cruel by taking Stacey away from us at such a young age. She had so much more life to live and our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends as we all grieve together. The world really is now a poorer place without this wonderful human being.

Rest in peace dear Stacey and thank you for being part of all our lives.
